Eyelid correction – a method for a younger look

One of the most effective but also the least invasive method of surgical facial rejuvenation is eyelid correction. It is the thin and delicate skin around the eyes that shows the aging processes, taking away the youthful glow of the eyes.

The procedure is performed in a way to obtain the best aesthetic effect. Most often, it means the opening of the eye and reducing patient’s discomfort by removing excess skin that makes it difficult to apply makeup or in some cases limits the field of view. When the eyelids are slightly asymmetrical, then the procedure is performed to correct this difference. The scope of the treatment is always an individual matter, adjusted to the patient’s facial features. The cutting line is hidden in the crease of the eyelid and is invisible to the others. During the initial consultation, the condition of the skin is examined, the patient’s expectations regarding the procedure are discussed and the possibilities of their implementation are determined.
In most cases, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia and takes approx. 1-2 hours. Patients return home on the same day.
The stitches need to be removed after 5-7 days. The first stage of healing usually takes 2-3 weeks. During this time the scar will be quite red and some swelling may appear on the face. As the days pass, the symptoms disappear. Patients can fully enjoy the outcome of the procedure after 4-6 weeks.
